My time at Curative Orthopaedics has flown by. After reflecting on my experience the expectations I had about internships could not have been more wrong.
One of the biggest takeaways I received from this internship was having the ability to watch the company grow. Getting to hear Samantha tell her story about the development of Back2Sleep, to watching the brace actually being manufactured was an incredible experience. I was able to be apart of networking for the company, as well the behind the scenes tasks.
Working for Curative Orthopaedics allowed me to apply what I learned in school, but also showed me what I needed to learn more about. It pushed me outside of my comfort zone and gave me the confidence to voice my opinion. The company allowed me to a part of developing ideas for the social media posts, networking events and overall improvements that could be made to the company.
It is so rare to be able to work directly with the CEO of the company you’re interning for, but I was able to communicate and learn from Samantha every week. Seeing how hard working and passionate she is about the company is one of my biggest motivators. Her and Lisa improved my writing skills, networking abilities and confidence in my decisions every week.
The internship also put my time-management skills to the test. Balancing schoolwork, holding a position in my sorority and my hours at Curative Orthopaedics was a challenge, but one I learned from. I am very thankful I got the opportunity to watch such an inspiring company expand. I am looking forward to continue contributing and learning from this awesome company this summer!
